The show was originally scheduled to premiere on June 21st, but the WMBR transmitter went down, so it was rescheduled for July 5 of that same year. The original first episode was then aired, in a non-promoted late night slot on June 24. The July 5th program is actually the second episode.

The July 5, 2020 debut of the program unintentionally and coincidentally comes one day after the 50th anniversary of the debut of the similarly and coincidentally titled program Casey Kasem's American Top 40, hosted by Casey Kasem.
